BLOCKBUSTER stores throughout the Atlanta area are staying open past midnight on Monday, December 8 so fans can buy or rent copies of the anticipated "Dark Knight" DVD when it is released in the early hours of December 9. The Batman film featuring Chrisitan Bale as Batman and a chilling version of The Joker portrayed by the late Heath Ledger is currently the highest grossing movie of 2008 in North America and worldwide, and it is the second highest grossing movie of all time domestically.
 
There will be a special "Dark Knight" celebration at the Brookhaven Blockbuster at 3944 Peachtree Road with Tim Andrews from Rock 100.5, Dark Knight trivia and other games beginning at 10 p.m. on December 8.
 
Admission to these specials events is free and open to the public. Copies of "The Dark Knight" are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

            On Saturday, December 13, Aqua Blue in Roswell will be hosting a Teddy Bear Brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.  Each family is encouraged to bring a new teddy bear with the tags still attached. In return, Aqua Blue will give each child a “blue chip” card good for a complimentary meal from the children’s menu on their next visit. The brunch price is $19.95 for adults and $8.95 for children four to 12. Children under four eat for free. For reservations, call 770-643-8886.

 

The brunch menu includes carved ham, London broil with Marsala mushroom sauce, roasted turkey with giblet gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, sautéed vegetables, macaroni & cheese, house and Caesar salad, a variety of fresh sushi and chicken fingers. The menu also includes scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, pancakes, biscuits and sausage gravy, home fries, fresh fruit and assorted pastries & desserts.
